MA Chinese or Master of Arts in Chinese is a postgraduate Chinese language course. The Chinese language is a language or language family that is especially associated with China or the Chinese ethnicity, and which may perhaps form part of the hypothetical Sino-Tibetan family of languages. The Master of Arts course in Chinese focuses on the following three areas of specialization besides providing advanced training in language and literature these are Chinese Literature, Chinese Classical Studies, and Modern Chinese Studies. Students may also opt for any one of the specializations by taking four elective courses in their respective areas. The duration of MA in Chinese is two years and the curriculum is divided into four semesters.
