M.A (Indian Philosophy and Religion) or Master of Arts in Indian Philosophy and Religion is a Post-Graduate philosophical course. Indian philosophy defines the traditions of philosophical thoughts that have origin in the Indian sub-continent including the northern Indian religious sects: Jainism, Buddhism, and Hinduism.

Indian philosophy is an amalgamation of many religious thoughts and principles. The Master of Arts course in Indian Philosophy and Religion studies the classical aspects of both Indian philosophy and religion and it is divided into four semesters. The duration of the Master of Arts course in Indian Philosophy and Religion is two years degree program.

M.A (Indian Philosophy and Religion) Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have B.A (Hons.)/ B.A in Philosophy from a recognized University or equivalent under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at B.A level.
  • B.A (Hons.) / B.A should be done securing a minimum of 50% in the aggregate.

  • Admission criterion is an entrance examination Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) generally conducted between May and June every year.
