MA Social Anthropology or Master of Arts in Social Anthropology is a Post-Graduate Anthropology course. Social Anthropology is the branch of anthropology that studies how contemporary human beings behave in social groups. During the Social Anthropology course, an intensive field study is undertaken on the following aspects of the society such as the social organization of a person: customs, economic and political organization, law and conflict resolution, patterns of consumption and exchange, kinship and family structure, gender relations, childrearing and socialization, religion, and so on. Two years are the minimum duration of the course and five years is the maximum. It may be provided by certain institutes on correspondent bases as well.
