Eligibility

M.B.B.S.

M.D. Physiology or Doctor of Medicine in Physiology is a postgraduate Physiology course. Physiology is the science of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of humans, their organs, and the cells of which they are composed. The course is related to anatomy; anatomy is the study of form, and physiology is the study of function. Due to the frequent connection between form and function, physiology and anatomy are intrinsically linked and are studied in tandem as part of a medical curriculum. The duration of the course is three years and it is job originating in nature which provides many scopes for them after its completion.

M.D. Physiology Eligibility

  • Candidates should have completed an M.B.B.S. degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognised university board.
  • Some of the reputed colleges and universities conduct an entrance examination for admission.

M.D. Physiology Course Suitability

  • Those who want to study of an organism's vital functions, including growth and development, the absorption and processing of nutrients, the synthesis and distribution of proteins and other organic molecules, and the functioning of different tissues, organs, and other anatomic structures. Physiology studies the normal mechanical, physical, and biochemical processes of animals and plants are suitable.
  • They should have analytical and problem-solving skills like thinking your way around problems, developing hypotheses and designing experiments to address questions being asked.
  • They also possess the ability to identify, select, organize and communicate information and data; computing and statistics-using spreadsheets, databases and presentation packages.
  • Other required skills are numeracy skills, attention to detail, process operation and professional expertise.

How is M.D. Physiology Course Beneficial?

  • M.D. Physiology is beneficial to know that how the body works. A physiologist may have to diagnose and treat major disorders that occur in the organs of a cardiovascular, hepatic, and digestive system.
  • The Course is also beneficial for further studies such as Ph.D. etc. as it gives a good base for it.
  • They can also become a research scientist (medical); here they plan and conduct experiments to increase the body of scientific knowledge on topics related to medicine.
  • They can become a speech and language therapist; here they work closely with infants, children and adults who have various levels of speech, language and communication problems.
