M.Tech (Network Management & Information Security) or Master of Technology in Network Management & Information Security is a two-year postgraduate Networking program. Networking and Security is an interdisciplinary course that covers network computing, information systems, cryptography, ubiquitous computing, digital forensics, and law. The Master of Technology course in Network Management & Information Security provides students with the necessary skills to plan, design, construct, manage and troubleshoot complex integrated voice and data networks.

An emphasis is placed on achieving designs that are both scalable and secure. Topics explored within the Network Management & Information Security degree include network switching, advanced routing, wide area networks, wireless networks, and the management and security of both computer systems and the network infrastructure; focuses on the network infrastructure and network security management aspects of information security. This concentration will provide in-depth coverage of network security infrastructure technologies such as firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability assessment tools, as well as overall security infrastructure engineering and design. The course is career orienting in nature that offers many opportunities in various fields.

M.Tech (Network Management & Information Security) Eligibility

  • GATE qualified in CSE/ECE with 4 years of study at university level/ B.E / B.Tech (CSE/ IT/ Computer related subjects)/ M.C.A / M.Sc (CS/IT) with 55% marks in aggregate.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks is given to sponsored/ SC/ ST candidates.
  • The maximum age limit is 27 years as of July 1 of the admission year. No age limit for female / sponsored candidates. Relaxation in age for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates is 3 years.
