M.Tech. Textile Chemistry or Master of Technology in Textile Chemistry is a postgraduate Textile Engineering course. It is a highly specialized field that applies the principles of the basic fields of chemistry to the understanding of textile materials and to their functional and aesthetic modification into useful and desirable items. Textile Chemistry emphasizes the fundamental principles of polymer science, dyeing and finishing technology, colour science, dye chemistry, and fibre formation. It is highly relevant to many of the chemical, retail and textile industries, as well as environmental and medical science. Students of textile chemistry study advanced applications of chemistry to the coloration and alteration of the functional properties of textile structures. It addresses the fundamental science and technology and, as well, the applicable technology of manufacturing. Textile materials are used in clothing, carpet, tire yarn, sewing thread, upholstery, and airbags, to name a few examples.

M.Tech. Textile Chemistry Eligibility

  • The students should have completed a B.E./B.Tech. in relevant subject with 60% or equivalent CGPA
  • Some of the very reputed universities and colleges conduct an entrance examination for admission.
