Ph.D. Disaster Management or Doctor of Philosophy in Disaster Management is a Doctorate Environment Manage program.  The minimum duration of this program is two years and the maximum duration is five years.  Areas of research include : capacity building for disaster mitigation, response and reconstruction, post-disaster reconstruction, post-conflict reconstruction, empowerment of women and prevention of vulnerabilities , women in construction, stakeholder management, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, post-conflict reconstruction, facilities management, performance management, process management, managing knowledge and learning, knowledge management, waste management strategies, reconstruction and economic development, business continuity management and project management applications in disaster settings. The program emphasizes theories, research methodologies, and policies related to emergency preparedness, mitigation, management and response.

Ph.D. Disaster Management Eligibility

  • M.Phil. Degree and a Post-Graduate degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a University or a recognized institution of higher training; or
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% or an equivalent grade from a university or a recognized institution of higher learning and five years of teaching/industry/administration/professional experience at senior level.
  • Some reputed colleges and universities conduct entrance examination for admission.
