Post Graduate Diploma in Psychiatry is a two-year diploma level programme. The course helps to train the medical, psychological, and social components of mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders and utilize a broad range of treatment modalities, including diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, psychotherapy, and helping patients and their families cope with stress and crises. Course produce graduates with a knowledge of and interest in a broad range of psychiatry/mental health areas. The course helps the students to acquire the knowledge and skills in psychiatric research, produce candidates who will benefit the mental health services through their ability to understand and interpret new research findings in psychiatry (all students), and in undertaking original mental health research themselves.
