P.G.D. Textile Designing or Post Graduate Diploma in Textile Designing is a postgraduate Textile Design course. This diploma course relates to the field of Arts (fashion and technology). As far textile designing is concerned it the process of creating designs for knitted, woven or printed fabrics by using the latest ways of technology. The programme starts with the learning of the fundamentals of textile design. These include elementary ergonomics, textile fibres, colour, composition, and basic textile design for weaving and printing. It also covers dyeing techniques, printing methods, sewing techniques, and construction of fabrics and surface design. The duration of the course is normally two years after the successful completion of graduation. The time span of the course may fluctuate from place to place. The course is very valuable and job orienting in the fashion world.
