UGC NET 2024 - UGC NET, also known as NTA-UGC-NET, is an examination used to determine eligibility for associate professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship awards in Indian universities and colleges. The test is administered by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grants Commission.
The award of a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or eligibility for an Assistant Professorship is based on the candidate's overall performance in UGC-NET Papers I and II. Candidates who qualify exclusively for Assistant Professorships are controlled by the norms and regulations for the recruitment of Assistant Professors of the respective universities/colleges/state governments.

Candidates having a Master's or equivalent degree in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science, etc. from a recognized UGC university/institution are eligible to apply.
Candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to the non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/persons with disability (PwD) category would be eligible for a 5% mark relaxation.
The NTA closely adheres to the Government of India's reservation policy, which states that a minimum of 27%, 15%, 7.5%, and 5% of fellowships are reserved for OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities, respectively (PwD).
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for the position of Assistant Professor.
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Must be under the age of 31 on the first day of the month in which the test is completed for the UGC NET 2024 June Cycle.
The examination will only be administered by computer-based testing (CBT).
The examination will consist of two papers. Both papers will have objective multiple-choice questions. There will be no intermission between papers.

The questions in Paper I are designed to test the candidate's teaching/research ability. It will largely be used to assess the Candidate's reasoning abilities, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. |

The test comprises two papers that are mandatory for all applicants. The UGC NET Paper 1 is the same for all applicants, however, Paper 2 is distinct for each topic, such as management, commerce, history, and political science.
The subjects and codes for the UGC NET are listed below. A new topic "Hindu Studies" (Subject code 102) has been added to the list of subjects by the UGC-NET Bureau.

To apply online, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Apply for Online Registration using your own email address and phone number.
Step 2: Complete the Online Application Form and write down the Application Number generated by the system. Scan and upload photos of:
Step 3: Make the payment via SBI / CANARA / ICICI / HDFC Bank / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI and save the evidence of payment.
Download, save, and print a copy of the Application Form's Confirmation Page (which will be available only after successful fee remittance) for future reference.
All three steps can be completed concurrently or sequentially. A candidate's application will be regarded as successful and his/her candidature will be verified only after the successful transaction/receipt of the stipulated application fee from him/her.
The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be produced only when the Candidate has successfully paid.
Candidates must verify that the information they put in their online Application Form is correct.
Important Things to Remember
Candidates' names, contact/address data, category, PwD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, choice of exam cities, and other information supplied in their individual online Application Forms shall be considered final. Any request for changes to such particulars made after the rectification time has expired will not be accepted by NTA under any circumstances.
Under no circumstances does NTA edit/modify/alter any information entered by applicants. Any requests for changes to information made after the Application Form has been submitted will be denied. As a result, applicants are recommended to use extreme caution when filling out the Application Form.
The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate. The fee for UGC NET for various categories is as follows.
