HP BAMS BHMS Entrance Exam 2022 - Himachal Pradesh Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery Entrance Exam is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University on behalf of the Government of Himachal Pradesh Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy/Ayurveda for providing admission to:

• 60 seats of BAMS course in Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College, Kangra and state quota seats, and management quota seats.
• 75 seats of BHMS courses in Solan Homoeopathic College and Hospital, Solan.

Educational Qualification

For BAMS Course

• Aspiring candidates should have passed/ appeared in any one of the qualifying examinations at the time of applying for the entrance test:
• 10+2 new Course Examination of a University/ Board established by law in India, or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test in Science subjects with 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes) and has also qualified the subject of English. OR
• The B.Sc Degree with 50% marks (40% marks for Scheduled Castes/ Tribes/ Other Backward Classes) of a University established by law in India with any three subjects out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Human Anatomy, and Bio-Chemistry; provided that such a candidate must have passed the Pre Medical or an equivalent examination with English as compulsory subject of Board/University established by law in India. OR
• Any examination of a University/ Board/ College or School in a foreign country, recognized as equivalent for the purpose of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
   

Note: The candidates who have appeared/appearing in Plus two examination or its equivalent examination and the result of the same has not yet been declared can also apply for the Combined BAMS/ BHMS Entrance Test, but the admission will be subject to the production of passing the plus two examinations or its equivalent examination with required percentage of marks as per eligibility clause in the Prospectus at the time of first round of counseling.
 

The minimum qualifying marks for admission to BAMS/BHMS Course shall be 50% for General category, 45% for General Physical Handicapped, and 40% for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/ Physically Handicapped candidates respectively.
 

Age Limits

• The Candidate should have already completed or should complete the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age on 31st December of the year of the concerned competitive examination.
• Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary Certificate/ Indian School Certificate will only be valid.

For BHMS Course

• The candidate should have passed 10+2 from H.P Board of School Education or from a recognized Board or equivalent degree/ examination passed with Science Medical group with Physics, Chemistry & Biology] of the University/ H.P Board of School Education in Science subjects.
   

Age Limits

• Should have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Criteria for Admission

BAMS Groups-wise

Group-I - The candidates should be a bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh and should possess minimum educational criteria as prescribed in the prospectus.

Group-II - The Govt. of India nominee shall have to fulfill the eligibility conditions i.e. he/she must have passed 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with at least 55% marks or its equivalent examination and also age condition as laid down in the prospectus for the purpose but they will not be required to compete in the Entrance Test. These seats have been allocated to the State of J & K by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health, F.W. (Deptt. Of Ayush). The applications of the candidates nominated should be forwarded by the competent authority i.e. Secretary ISM, Govt. of J & K to the Director of Ayurveda, ISM & H. Govt. of H.P., Ayurveda Bhawan, Block No. 26, SDA Complex, Kasumpti, Shimla-171009 with a copy to the Principal R.G. Govt. P.G. Ayurvedic College Paprola - 176115 Distt. Kangra (H.P.) by the stipulated date. Such candidates will have to appear before the counseling committee on the stipulated date and time mentioned in the prospectus or report to the Principal of the College concerned. In case, Govt. of J&K does not make any nominations or if any the candidates if any as recommended failed to join the course within four weeks from the commencement, of course, the college authority will be free to fill up one seat each from the candidates belonging to the backward area and the general category of Group I respectively.

Group-III- These seats are to be filled up on an All India Basis, there is no condition for Bonafide Himachali and all candidates who possess the minimum educational qualification and other criteria as prescribed in the prospectus are eligible to be covered under this group. The bonafide Himachali candidates will also be considered for Group III Seats on the basis of combined merit. The eligibility criteria for the foreign-sponsored candidates shall be as prescribed and approved by the CCIM/ Govt. of India. However, they are not required to appear in the Entrance Test.
 

BHMS Groups-wise

Group-A (State Quota Seats): The candidates should be a bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh and should possess minimum educational criteria as prescribed in the prospectus.

Group-B (Management Quota Seats): The seats are open to all without any domicile conditions.

In case seats remain vacant under state quota in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled tribe category then first preference will be given to those candidates who have applied under the same category in Management quota, if seats still remain vacant then seats can be filled from the general or other categories.

However, in case the seats against state quota remain vacant even after exhausting the merit list of the Entrance Test will be filled-up by adopting the following admission procedure:-

1. 1st preference will be given in order of Merit of +2 qualifying examination of those Bonafide Himachali candidates who have also appeared in Entrance Test subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria as prescribed for State Quota Seats. The qualified candidates of the Entrance Test if applied, will be given preference.
2. 2nd preference will be given in order of merit of +2 qualifying examination of bonafide H.P. candidates who have passed +2 examination from Government recognized school in HP with at least 50% marks in +2 and 40% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.
3. 3rd Preference will be given in order of merit of +2 qualifying examination of those bonafide HP candidates who have passed +2 examinations from any Government recognized school in India with at least 50% marks in +2 and 40% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.
4. In case the seats in the State Quota remain vacant even after exhausting the procedure available under 3rd preference, then the candidates at the top of the merit list of Management Quota will be converted into State Quota Seats to fill up the remaining vacancies in the State Quota. In such cases the preference will be given to those Bonafide Himachali candidates who have sought admission on the basis of merit of Entrance Test under Management Quota or those Bonafide Himachali who have appeared in the Entrance Test will be given preference on the basis of +2 merit. The candidates so admitted/ converted against such seats shall be charged the fee payable by the State Quota candidate. Resultant vacancies arising due to the conversion of Management Quota Seats to the State Quota will be filled up from the waiting list of Management Quota Seats.
5. For filling up the vacant seats under State/management Quota in private BHMS course as per procedure mentioned above, the interested eligible candidates may apply to the Principal of the Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Bye Pass Road, Kumarhatti, Distt. Solan for seeking admission under State/Management Quota on the Counselling –cum-Admission Form which is attached in the Prospectus on mentioning full particulars along with required documents. The Principal of the College prepared the merit list category-wise and the same will be uploaded on the college website as well as the notice Board of the College. The College may also inform the candidates telephonically about the date of Counselling. In this regard, the candidates may be noted that they must write down their correct Mobile No. in the Application Form. The Counselling will be held in the presence of the representatives of the Director, Ayurveda Govt. of H.P, Principal, Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Ayurvedic Post Graduate College, Paprola and H.P University, Shimla.
