SEED Exam 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Aspiring candidates must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc) OR 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination.

Note: Candidates appearing for the final examination of the 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year.

• The candidate should possess the Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adaptability to the situations, that the profession demands.

Important: Candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred

SEED Exam 2024 Pattern

• SEED for Design is a design aptitude test examining the color, geometry, visual observations, creative thinking abilities, general design awareness, awareness of Indian culture, craft and traditions, etc.
• The question paper would consist of 150 objective questions with multiple choices worth 150 marks.

How to apply for the SEED 2024?

Aspiring Candidates can follow the following steps to apply for SEED.

For Indian Students

All Indian students are required to take the SEED 2023. No candidate is entitled to seek admission without a valid SEED score. For that Register online for the exam at www.set-test.org. The facility of payment of SEED fee and printing of Admit Card is available online. A student aspiring to pursue an undergraduate program at Symbiosis needs to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1

• Register online for the SEED exam by paying Rs. 1500/- and appear for the test.
• You may visit www.set-test.org for further details.

Step 2

• Simultaneously, apply online to SID for registering your candidature for the B.Des program.
• Use your SEED ID and password to log in and register online for SID. Payment of Rs. 1000/- towards registration to the B.Des program of SID has to be made using the mode of payments available online.

Step 3

• If you are making a payment of Rs. 1000/- by DD, Login using your SEED ID and password to print the payment advice; put your signature and send it to Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune.
• Payment advice along with the payment instrument (DD) should reach the institute before the due date.
• Please note that a candidate has to apply for “SEED” online at www.set-test.org and to the institute (SID) at www.sid.edu.in separately and both registrations must be considered for the further selection process.

SEED 2024 Selection Process

Admission to the B.Des program of SID will be according to the following process:

Level 1           

The result of SEED will be put up on the SEED website as per the schedule. If a candidate qualifies for SEED, he/she would be eligible to appear for SID’s Studio Test.

Level 2           

Studio Test will be conducted only at SID, Pune campus. If a candidate qualifies for the Studio Test, he/she is eligible to appear for Personal Interaction.

Level 3           

Personal Interaction.

Final selection would be based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in SEED, Studio Test and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and his/her first preference of the disciplines offered.
