S.P.B. Patel Engineering College, established in 2006 under the Jay Jalaram Education Trust, is dedicated to academic excellence and societal upliftment. Located within the Saffrony Institute of Technology Campus, the institute is affiliated with GTU and approved by AICTE. It offers four degree and four diploma engineering programs across various disciplines. S.P.B. Patel Engineering College ensures a well-structured and comprehensive academic framework through meticulous curriculum planning, effective teaching methodologies, and a robust evaluation system.
The Institute follows the curriculum set by Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and aligns its academic calendar, lesson plans, and assessment strategies accordingly. Each department prepares a detailed timetable, course plan, and structured lesson materials to ensure systematic knowledge delivery. The curriculum is continuously refined based on stakeholder feedback from students, faculty, employers, alumni, and parents. The Institute integrates cross-cutting themes such as gender equality, sustainability, human values, and professional ethics through various extension programs. Students enhance their practical knowledge through industrial visits, internships, and hands-on training, complementing their classroom education. Additionally, value-added courses like Professional & Life Skills Development (PLSD) bridge the gap between industry and academia, preparing students for the professional world.
A student-centric learning approach is adopted, incorporating experiential learning, problem-solving, and ICT-enabled teaching methodologies. The Institute utilizes a Learning Management System (LMS) to synchronize theory and practical knowledge. Students are categorized as advanced learners and slow learners ("GTU Fighters"), with targeted interventions provided accordingly. Each faculty member mentors a group of 20 students for academic and personal guidance. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) ensures effective curriculum delivery, collects feedback, and implements necessary improvements. Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is implemented across all programs, with well-defined Program Outcomes (POs), Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), and Course Outcomes (COs) guiding assessment strategies. To enhance transparency and accountability, students are encouraged to participate in the Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS) and provide feedback on academic processes. Posters and awareness campaigns ensure widespread participation in the NAAC survey. Through these initiatives, S.P.B. Patel Engineering College fosters academic excellence, industry readiness, and holistic student development.
S.P.B. Patel Engineering College offers a well-equipped infrastructure and extensive learning resources to support quality education and student engagement. The institute features modern laboratories aligned with the curriculum, classrooms with advanced ICT tools, and well-maintained seminar halls, an auditorium, and common areas. The central library, spanning 654.6 square meters, follows AICTE norms and provides digital access, DELNET services, National Digital Library membership, and Wi-Fi-enabled resources. Sports facilities encourage participation in various competitions. The campus maintains cleanliness through dedicated housekeeping staff. With a 300 MBPS internet connection, the institute ensures seamless connectivity for students and faculty. All facilities, including laboratories, classrooms, hostels, and recreational areas, are efficiently maintained. The campus also features an amphitheater and open-air theatre for cultural events. Hostel accommodations offer a secure and disciplined environment with well-furnished rooms and mess facilities, fostering student confidence and personal growth.

The institute offers scholarships, freeships, and government-aided Minority Scholarships, along with additional assistance in the application process. Merit-based scholarships further encourage student achievement. Support services include career counseling, competitive exam guidance, soft skills training, remedial coaching, a language lab, bridge courses, and personal well-being counseling. Student grievances are addressed through an effective redressal mechanism, with an Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) in place for handling issues related to sexual harassment. Anti-ragging measures ensure a safe campus environment. The institute enhances career prospects by preparing students for higher education and securing placements in reputed companies. Cultural and extracurricular activities, such as UDAAN sports events and FUSION cultural festivals, allow students to showcase their talents. Various student clubs, including SAE India Collegiate Club, Robocon, Hackathon, and the E-Cell, provide avenues for skill development and networking. The alumni association organizes SPARSH, an annual alumni meet, fostering lasting connections between graduates and their alma mater, strengthening the institution’s network and legacy.

With over 30 active MoUs with industries, the Institute provides students with internships, field trips, on-the-job training, and research opportunities. Knowledge transfer is enhanced through a well-stocked library and digital resources, with students required to engage in book reviews and non-text assignments to expand their learning beyond textbooks.
