The Institute of Management Education (IME) was started in 1995 with a full time PGDM programme duly approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Institute of Management Education was conceived and set up by Professor H P Gupta, an educationist, a visionary, an institution builder and above all a thorough professional, who started his career as a lecturer in Commerce with S D College, Ghaziabad. It was in the mid nineties, that Prof Gupta decided to devote full time to the noble cause of education and was the founder director of a management institute at Ghaziabad. In late 1995, he set up the Institute of Management Education. Over the past couple years, the Institute has diversified in the areas of Information Technology and Law, and today, the Institute is known for academic excellence, research orientation, industry interactions and social responsibility. The faculty of IME is well qualified from reputed universities/ Institutions and has rich industry experience. Apart from teaching, the faculty is actively involved in research; consulting; and executive training. It has brilliant students; state of the art infrastructure; strategic location; and a consistent good placement record. IME strives to nurture freedom of thought and expression in all its fellow beings and aims to bring together people from diverse areas and work towards uplifting of the ways business is managed. IME has its own campus spread over six acres of land.

Location - It is located strategically on G.T. Road at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. The campus is about 15 kilometre from Connaught Place, New Delhi; one kilometre from Sahibabad Railway Station.

Facilities

Dress Code - To maintain identity and dignity of the students dress code is compulsory. The arrangements are made at campus through ‘Raymonds’ dealer at the reasonable cost.

Lecture Rooms - Lecture rooms are equipped with the best furniture & latest audio-visual aids to create a conducive environment of learning.

Library - The library has over 27,000 books, large number of periodicals as well as several national and international journals. The library is automated and is using integrated library automation system LibSys, which is capable of working in integrated multi user network environment. The library is subscribing to about 150 emerald online international research journals which contain research articles, reviews, insights, case studies, interviews etc. IME library is a member of DELNET & British library providing access to database of books, current periodicals, articles etc. IME also has the online subscription of “Prowess” CMIE, Capital Line.

Computing @ IME - There are four computer labs, equipped with Pentium IV PC’s along with the state of the art hardware and software. Access to the internet is made available through high speed radio link.

Hostel & Mess Facilities - IME has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Mess facility is these hostels are provided on co-operative basis.

Medical Facilities - Medical facilities may be availed from clinics & hospitals located nearby campus. In particular Narinder Mohan Hospital, Mohan Nagar and GTB Hospital, Shahdara, Delhi.

Management development programmes - Today, the world is changing and so are the business dynamics. In order to keep pace with the changing business paradigms and thus to develop the survival; growth; and leadership strategies; organizations have no option but to update their human resources and that too, on continuous basis. Thus the managers need to enhance their conceptual knowledge as well as upgrade their managerial skills. With this requirement in mind, IME conducts Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for the Corporate Managers and Executives. The MDPs offered by IME are well researched out and meets the requirements of the targeted audience. These programmes are aimed at to bridge the gaps between the required and the existing skill sets of the managers and thus would sensitize and update their knowledge base. The participants in these programmes are bound to benefit as the methodology chosen is case methods; projects; role plays; simulation games; and above all learning by participation with  the faculty and  with other participants in the group. IME offers MDPs in the areas of Strategy; HRD; Marketing; Finance; Operations; and Information Technology Management.

Corporate Interaction - The institute also organizes seminars, workshops, paper presentations, supplementing class room training, industrial visits which encourage the spirit of achievement and helps in preparing the leaders to strive hard towards excellence in managerial functioning.

IME Placement Cell - Placement activities at IME are faculty-student-managed process. There is a placement cell to provide overall supervision and directions for final as well as Summer Placements of the students. This cell consists of the Faculty Placement Chairman , a coordinator and a group of faculty members who work in close coordination with the students representatives. The campus requirement program attempts to match the aspirations of the future managers with the expectations of the corporate sector. IME's Centre for Corporate Interaction and Management Development (CCIMD) identifies potential companies , makes presentations before selected companies and co-ordinates with students terms of matching their aspirations.

International Collaborations - The IME had entered into two prestigious international collaborations. The first one is with Eastern Mennonite University, Department of Business & Economics, Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA, which is well known for its values and ethics based business management and second with Poznan University, College of Business and Foreign Languages, Poznan (Poland) to promote exchange of students and faculty; collaborative research and joint studies; organize joint international conferences; exchange of information on course of study including the curriculum of various courses; and promote study tours. These collaborations are going to be the milestones towards realisation of the IME's dream to emerge as a B-School of global standards. The other international collaborations with reputed Universities are under process.

Sports - Besides academics, students at IME engage themselves in a number of activities. Sports facilities are provided for Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn tennis, Table tennis etc. Students are encouraged to undertake various social projects, organize various events ranging from cultural to personality development. IME also sponsor the sports and games such as special Olympics-Bharat, Regional Women’s Hockey, Para Olympic- State level sports event etc.

Extra curricular Activities - The institute has a busy schedule of organizing different programmes in almost each month e.g. Foundation Day, Manthan (Management Fest), E-Kranti (IT Fest), Sports Meet (Twice a Year), Fresher Party, Convocation Day, RUX (Hostellers Get-together), Farewells, Fragrance- A Chat with the Alumni, Industrial Tours and Seminars on current topics. It also conducts socially relevant activities include like - awareness regarding environment through different methods, Blood & Eye donation camps, donations to disaster relief fund, donation on humanitarian ground to Prime Minister Relief fund, donation to organizations working for the cause of humanity etc.

IME Club - Club formed to transform Trainees in to effective and productive Managers and professional. Every institution is renowned by the event they conduct .In this regard IME-Ghaziabad has left no stone unturned to support all kinds of events, which would not only enhance the prestige of the institute but also personality of the students , from the induction programme to guest lectures, to cultural event and managerial event it has spread its colourful wings in all corners. Trainees who have superb talents with them, got platform here and they horn/polish their skills and talent by organizing, participating or being a part.

IME Journal - It is a referred bi-annual research journal of the institute (ISSN: 0974-0716). It is published twice a year in January and July. The objective of this journal is to provide research and data support to the academicians, researchers, corporate sector and policy makers. It equips the students with latest developments and trends in the area of Management and Information Technology. It publishes Research Papers, Articles, Case Studies, Book Review, and Bibliography etc. The selection of these articles in this journal is done through a blind review process.
