Galgotias Business School (GBS) was established by Smt. Shakuntala Educational and Welfare Society. Mr. Suneel Galgotia, a resolute visionary, committed to provide world class technical and management education is the founder Chairman. It was established in 1999 when the institution functioned from a rented accommodation with 40 students. Galgotias Business School aims at synergizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills to promote all-round professional competence. GBS has a sprawling self-sufficient campus with spacious and beautiful academic building, fully secure and comfortable separate hostels for boys and girls, seminar and conference halls as well as indoor and outdoor games facilities and multi-cuisine cafeteria, managed by professional caterers. Tools are used for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, case study, project work, field experience, assignment, quiz, seminars, industry visits are some of the methods used. Galgotias Business School is fully geared and well equipped to train future managers/executives. Admission Procedure - Galgotias Business School uses CAT/MAT Scores for short listing candidates for Group Discussion and personal Interview conducted by the HR Personal and Company Executives including MNCs.

The procedure consists of three steps as below:

1. A Candidate seeking admission to GBS Greater Noida is required to appear in the CAT or MAT.
2. A candidate is required to register at GBS through a separate application form which will be available along with information brochure from admission coordinator.
3. Candidate short-listed on the basis of CAT/MAT score will be called for Group Discussion, Extempore and interview for final selection. The weight age for final selection will be 60% for CAT/MAT score and 40% for Group Discussion, Extempore and interview. Selected candidate will be intimated by registered post/courier/ordinary post. No regret letter will be sent to those who are not selected. The school does not take any responsibility for postal delays and/or loss in transit.

The workshops at GBS have an excellent collection of tools and equipments that can facilitate even intensive project work.

Library - The library information services play a crucial role in teaching and learning activities and provide the main source of individual reading and study materials. The library is well stocked, covering a varied range of topics on all related fields. At GBS the library is computerized and air-conditioned. It has more than 750 titles and 3000 text and reference books, 45 national and international journals. There are a number of general books for the overall development of the students. The Library also subscribes to magazines, periodicals, newspapers and provides students with wide knowledge in all areas of professional education, which gives an exposure to the students about the happenings in the world and awareness of the international arena.

Book Bank - The prescribed textbooks and important reference books constitute the book bank. The Book Bank Scheme issues every student one book in each subject for extensive use. Attempts are being made to further enrich the library through international funding. The library is also equipped with a large number of CD-ROMS, which can be borrowed by the faculty & students for effective usage.

On-line training - GBS has been synonymous with technological innovation since its inception. A striking testament to GBS's commitment to innovation is the unique Online Learning and Teaching (OLT). OLT is one of the many endeavours to adopt technology that simplifies systems and procedures to facilitate users. This powerful computer enabled information tool is supported by LAN and a new Wi-Fi enabled network that makes GBS part of a club of technologically superior institutions in its field. OLT allows students, faculty and administration to interact and communicate seamlessly with each other, reducing use of paper in an environmentally responsible approach. On-line quizzes, hand books, timetable, course outline, faculty feedback results, assignments, rules about evaluation etc. are just a mouse click away. Thus reducing the long queries at the inquiry counters of the academic programme offices.

Round the clock internet - The computer labs are equipped with state-of-the-art P-IV computers with the latest software required for various applications. All computers are interconnected on WAN and in turn get connected to the internet. The institute has established its own Radio Microwave Link facility with a high speed of 4 mbps via RF computer for academic use.

Management Development Programmes - GBS offers its assistance and support to business organizations through training and consultancy services addressing specific issues as per needs of the organization. GBS offers Management Development Programmes in management focusing on the objectives of achieving conceptual learning and skill development of the managers. MDPs are designed and executed to broaden the horizon of thinking and to strengthen skills of the practising managers. Programmes are offered in all functional areas of management. Participants gain valuable insights through participation in class room activities and interaction with faculty and other participants in the group.

In-company Programmes - GBS conducts in company management Programmes specially designed to meet the specific needs of the organization. The content and pedagogy of these Programmes is designed in keeping with the background, needs and particular expectations of the sponsoring company. The Programmes aim to develop among the participants the skill of handling change and upgrading work culture or operational efficiency in keeping with the corporate objectives of the organization. These Programmes are highly efficient in terms of measurable parameters. The faculty prepares specialized study material for such Programmes, incorporating special features to meet the requirements of the concerned organization.

Research & Consultancy - GBS has gained reputation for excellence both in academics and research contribution. As an academics institution, research lies at the heart of its endeavours. While academic Programmes serve to prepare young minds for careers in the field of management, the Business School's academic standing and credibility rests on the research quality. GBS concentrates on three main tasks of an institute of higher education to generate knowledge (research), to transfer knowledge (education and training) and to disseminate knowledge (publication and consultancy). Consequently, research in GBS is recognized as a core activity along with teaching, training and consulting.

Consultancy Services - GBS offers its intellectual and experimental resources in providing assistance to organizations commercial, government, developmental, small and medium enterprises and NGOs to tackle issues of concern through scientific consultancy. The institute undertakes consultancy projects in divergent activities in management and information technology streams. The Business School has experienced capable and knowledgeable faculty members with expertise in marketing, finance, operations, strategy, human resource development, operations research, economic and information technology. The Business School undertakes each project under scientific framework of research methodology in sync with the latest trends and knowledge in the respective fields. The projects may be in terms of issue identification, resolution of the identified problems and issue or development of innovative strategies and practices. Some of the organizations for whom consultancy projects have been carried out in Autofit Industries Ltd., Genus Overseas Electronics Ltd. and Mayur Uniquotas.

CRC - To assist the students in making a career choice interface with the corporates a large number of  activities are held all round the year. These help in a preparation for corporate career.  Corporate Resource Centre ensures a steady flow of corporate visitors to the campus to interact with the students across different business sectors.

Campus Placements - A strong network with the corporates as well as regular interface with companies through several activities enable the institute to provide good placements both summer and final to our students. Some of the companies in which the students have the privilege of getting placements are Jindal Steel & Power,Zee Turner ,Terex Vectra,Hdfc Bank,Dish Tv, Icici Lombard etc.

Health Care & First Aid - Medical facilities with qualified doctors and nurses are available for consultation. Tie-up with nearby premier nursing homes at subsidized charges for medical care. In-house transport services for medical emergencies. Blood bank and health care camps periodically organized.

Transport - The institute arranges transport for its students across every possible area. The cost is subsidized by the institute but nominal charges are paid by the students.

Use of the institute transport facility is subject to the following conditions:

1. Students must be enrolled in a full time course.
2. It is the responsibility of Parents / Guardians to ensure that students are at the designated pick-up points on the transport network at the time agreed.
3. Passes are only valid on journeys arriving at the start of the institute day and for journeys departing from the Institute at the end of the day.

Spic Macay Chapter - The institution has started the chapter of SPIC MACAY, Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth. It aims at inculcation amongst the youth the traditional values of Indian Heritage and Culture. World-renowned artists come to the campus and interact with the students through their art. In the past the institution had Lecture Demonstration (LEC-Dem) from Folk-lore Artist Wadali Bandhu and Mysore Brothers (Karnatak Violin.) The students had a pleasant experience in interacting with the artists. The Student Core Group of SPIC MACAY not only manages all the programmes but also are part of overall management of the programmes being organized by educational institutions in Delhi & U.P.

Counselling & Student Welfare - Student counselling Centre is available on all working days during college hours to assist students with academic and non-academic matters, which include emotional, psychological, pedagogic and cultural problems. A group of 10 students is assigned to a faculty member who acts as a counsellor and remains responsible for the group throughout the year. The students are free to contact the counsellors any time. The counsellors provide valuable support to students, particularly in terms of learning enhancement skills, personal and career counselling. The institute believes in making the student as comfortable as possible and virtually adopts the students for the whole duration of academic programme. The scholarships for meritorious students and loan for socially and economically deprived students are part of the system.
