All Saints’ College is founded by Rev. Mother Mary Loiuse, CCR with the approbation of the Rt. Rev. Dr. V.V. Dereere, OCD, Bishop of Trivandrum. The College begins functioning in the Holy Angels’ premises on 6 July 1964 with Miss Margaret P. Paulose as Principal and 277 students in the First Year Pre-Degree class.
1965
On 15 May His Excellency the Most Rev. James R. Knox, Apostolic Internuncio to India lays the foundation stone of the first block of the College at Chackai, the permanent campus.
1967
The College is shifted to the new campus at Chackai on 10 January. It is upgraded on 24 July with the introduction of Degree Courses in English, History, Economics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Zoology.
1980
B.Sc. Botany and B.Com Degree Courses are offered for the first time in July.
1982
The College receives sanction to commence the postgraduate course in English Language and Literature.
1993
The first batch of B.Sc. Physics students begins the course.
1995
M. Com. is the second postgraduate course to be introduced in College.
1999
The B.A. (Restructured) Course in Communicative English is introduced. The postgraduate course in M. Sc. Environmental Sciences commences as a multidisciplinary course managed by the Department of Botany.
2001
The College is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in July.
2008
The College is reaccredited by NAAC with grade B (2.81) in March.
2011
The College is selected as a centre for the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) programme, “Skill Enhancement Computer Training and Women’s Resource Centre in Colleges of Kerala” in January.The postgraduate course in M. Sc Environmental Sciences – which was initially a self-financing course – is regularized with the approval of the Government of Kerala. The Postgraduate Department of Environmental Sciences is constituted as a separate department from 11 October following the appointment of four Assistant Professors in the same.
2012
All Saints’ College is one of the three colleges in Kerala under the Star College Scheme. This is a scheme initiated by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to nurture excellence in undergraduate Science.M. Com. is the second postgraduate course to be introduced in College.
2013
The College celebrates its Golden Jubilee marking 50 years of academic excellence and service. A debt of gratitude is owed to the leaders who have made the institution what it is today.
