About Balaji Institute of Engineering and Technology - BIET

Balaji Institute of Engineering and Technology was established by Sri Venkateshwara Educational and Charitable Trust in 2008 to spread sound technical knowledge to the student community of Chennai and suburb and the nation in general. The Institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, New Delhi, File No. 06/05/TN/ET/2008/19 dated 10-06-2008. It has excellent infrastructural facilities, well qualified and dedicated faculty members, equipment for laboratories, workshops and facilities for sports and recreational activities. It is located in the vicinity of Chennai Airport, Bus Terminus and Major Software Companies which make it a desirable Institute.

Facilities

Hostels - Separate Hostels are available for boys and girls.

Central Library - BIET has has a good collection of 11000 volumes, 2500 titles and 40 journals (National and International). An air-conditioned Digital Library with 30 systems (DELL – XP Pentium Dual core processor plus accessories) with Internet facilities and a Mini Theatre with Audio / Video facilities are also housed in the Central Library. The College Library has tie - up with IIT Madras, Anna University and British Council library for using their resources.

Computer Centre - The Computer Centre has enough Computers to meet the requirements of the students. LAN and WAN facilities are also available in the Centre. It also had 24 hours Broadband Connection of 2 mbps speed.

Edusat - The Institute has Audio, Video Live program facility in tie up with Anna University.

Health Centre / Medical Centre - The Institute provide Medical facilities through its Health Centre.

Transport - Buses ply through all important routes of Chennai city & Suburbs for the convenience of the students and staff.

Laboratories - All the Departments have their own respective Laboratories for research and experimentation.

Seminar Rooms - The Institute has 3 Seminar Rooms for organising various literary activities.

Canteen - Canteen caters Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian and North Indian hygienic Food.
