About Apeejay College of Engineering
Apeejay College of Engineering, Sohna was established by Apeejay Education Society in 1997. The College is spread over an area of 22.5 acres. It conducts Engineering Courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate Level. The College has been approved by of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and graded by Director of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Haryana. Some of the branches of B. Tech. program offered by Apeejay College of Engineering are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

Facilities
Hostels - The College has well furnished separate Hostels for boys and girls within the Campus viz. Vivekanand Hostel for 200 boys and Sarojni Naidu Hostel for 101 girls. A New Boys' Hostel with a capacity of 319 units is nearing completion and will become functional in the ensuing session. Internet facility through Wireless and Local Area Network has also been planned for the hostel residents, such that they can access to internet from their room if their computer has Bluetooth Communication Interface. All Hostels provide good accommodation and facility for extra curricular activities as well.
Library - The College has a well equipped Library in a separate block. It consists of a Central Reading Hall, Newspapers and Periodical Sections, Scholarly Journal Room and a Multimedia Library. The Library has a growing collection of Thirty Three Thousand Books. Almost all journals of IEEE, IEE and Other publications in engineering sciences are available through On-Line facilities of INDEST. Besides, a large number of journals and magazines in print are also subscribed. It maintains separate collections of Reference Books, Journals, Project, Video Cassettes, Compact Discs/DVDs. The Library has DELNET (Developing Library NET work) and INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Science and Technology) facilities. These can be accessed from the Library as well as from the other Department/ Laboratories of the College. The College has Book Bank facility, which is obligatory for all the undergraduate students of Undergraduate Program. One time membership fee of Rs 2000/- towards providing books, services, infrastructure maintenance, replacement and Book Bank security deposit of Rs 1000/- (Refundable) as a caution money. Under the Scheme students are provided one textbook in each course in all the eight semesters.
Laboratories - Every Department has it's own respective Laboratories.
Some of these are:
- Satellite Laboratory - The College is equipped with four Satellite-Training Systems and is one of the best Laboratories under the M.D. University.
- Microwave Laboratory - It has six ready-to-use sets of Microwave Test Benches and conducts experiments on frequency and power measurement and conducts studies on the radiation pattern of various types of antennas.
- Communication Laboratory - It is well equipped with Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes and Experimental Kits to conduct experiments on Amplitude, Frequency and Phase Modulation / Demodulation as well as Amplitude, Frequency and Phase shift keying etc.
- Optical Fibre Communication Laboratory - This Laboratory helps the students study Data Transmission through Optical Fibre.
- PCB Laboratory - It provides a platform for the students to study PCB designing.
- Simulation Laboratory - It help the students to study and analyse Analogue and Digital Circuits using P-Spice, TANNER Pro for VLSI Design (Schematics, Simulation, Layout Synthesis etc.) etc.
- Instrumentation & Control Laboratories - These have almost all types of Transducers and Interfaces for comparative study of characteristics to help students in the selection of transducers under different industrial processing environments. The Laboratories also provide facilities for different types of Measuring Bridges.
- Laboratory for Microprocessor Based Instrumentation - These are used for the measurement of physical quantities such as Displacement, Pressure Levels, Temperature, etc. The students are required to perform minor and major projects on Microprocessor-Based Instrumentation and Controls. Sufficient number of Microprocessor Kits (Intel 8085 and 8086 based), Micro Controller Kits, Microcomputers and Intel Pentium III based Computers are available.
- Control System and Process Control Laboratories - These are used for imparting training on conventional control methods. Besides these, the Laboratory has Microcomputer Based Closed Loop PI & PID process control Setup and Pneumatic Servo Control System Kits. The Setup in these Laboratories facilitates higher studies and research in Instrumentation and Control Engineering as well as in the field of Electrical Engineering.
Scholarships - The University offers various Scholarships based on instructions issued by State Government, Student/ Parent/ Guardian’s Financial Status and Academic Performance and Excellence of the Students.
Some of these are:
- District welfare Officer, Gurgaon, Post Matric Scholarship.
- HSCS - Haryana State Counselling Society Scholarship to Kashmiri Migrants.
- Scholarship granted to Poor Muslim student by Haryana Wakf Board.
- HSCS –Scholarship for M.Tech student on account of Aryabhatta Research Scholarship.
- Financial Assistance granted by the college out of Students” Aid Fund.
Sports Facilities - The college has Fields for Games such as Tennis, Hockey, Badminton, Cricket, Football and Volleyball. Indoor games like Carom, Table-Tennis, Chess etc. are also available in instructional area as well as in the Hostels.
Counselling - The College has a Mentorship /Counselling Cell monitors academic progress as well as any problems the students maybe facing. All students are put under the mentorship of a Teacher-Counsellor during his/her four year studies in the College. A Teacher-Counsellor is appointed for a particular section of the course. he/she remains the students Counsellors all through the four years of their stay in the College or so long the Teacher does not resign from the College.
Training & Placement Cell - The Training & Placement Cell maintains an effective interaction of the institute and its fraternity with the industry. Students undergo Summer Training in various Industries with a view to enable them to participate effectively in Industrial Projects wherein they have the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in practical environments and develop confidence and rapport with industries. The students from the last batch are placed in different companies of repute which includes Companies like Aimil, Fibcom, Siemens, D.R.D.O., Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Perrot etc.
Extra Curricular Activities
These include:
- Cultural Society - It nurtures the hobbies of the talented youngsters and also provides a platform for exchange of ideas and interaction amongst peer groups. The Society is further divided into Four Clubs, i.e Music, Dance, Dramatics and Fine Arts Clubs. The students, according to their interest can be a member of any of these clubs. The Cultural Society holds cultural functions in the College premises and sends students to other Colleges for participation in their Cultural Festivals, Techno-fests, Zonal and Inter Zonal Youth Festivals of M.D. University, Rohtak.
- Blood Donation Camps - These are organised from time to time to save precious life of patients who need blood to live.
- Youth Welfare Programmes - The participation of students in adventure program builds up self-confidence and provides a platform for amalgamation of sub-cultural norms and ethos of the different parts of India and exchange of ideas and values thereby. The College has been sponsoring students to participate in different programs organized and conducted by the Youth Welfare Department of the University such as Technical fest, Adventure program in mountaineering, Para Ballooning, Snow & Water Skiing, Adventure excursion etc.
- ISTE Students' Chapter - Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The College is a member of this Society and has ISTE Students Chapter for different technical and co-curricular activities. All students admitted to the College become member of the chapter for four years by paying membership fee at the time of admission. In turn, they become eligible to participate in all functions/competitions / programs of ISTE on All India level. Apeejay College of Engineering keeps sponsoring students to take part in functions / programs, organized by other. ISTE Student Chapter provides students opportunity to interact with technocrats of other Institutions as well.
