Baba Saheb BhimRao Ambedkar Law College is an associated college of University of Lucknow and is located in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The College is under Self-finance Scheme and is duly approved by the Bar Council of India; and is an institution recognised u/s 2(f) of the UGC approved Colleges. Lucknow also known as 'Awadh' is the city of Nawabs. Sheikhzadas settled in the 11th century on the Gomti River and build a fort, 'Qila Likhna'. In 1775 Asif-ud-Daula shifted his capital from Faizabad to Lucknow and together with a French 'adventurer' Claude Martin, enlivens the City with flamboyant buildings. The main monuments are the Great Imambara, Asafi Mosque, Rumi Darwaza, old British residency, the Chowk, and Martin's places: Farhat Daksh (Chattar Manzil), Dilkusha Palace, Bailey Guard Gate, Lal Baradari, Begum Kothi and Kursheed Manzil.
In 1921 the Foundation stones of the University as well as King George V Medical College of Lucknow were laid down. The project was to transform Canning College into University for which the Taluqdars alone contributed more than Rs. 30 lakhs.
The foundation stone of Baba Saheb BhimRao Ambedkar Law College was laid down on 17th October 2004. Prof. (Dr.) V.G. Goswami, who was also the Head of the Deptt. & Dean Faculty of Law in the University of Lucknow transformed his dream of building a Law College in the shape of this College. He made his all out efforts to provide best knowledge and wisdom to students coming to this field. The College Campus is situated at Harknsgarhi Rae Bareily Road and depicts a remarkable state of art building. College provides a fertile field by giving opportunity for the students to interact with the best professionals from legal field, Bench and Bar, Educational Institutes and industrial houses thus enriching their learning experience.
