About Screenwriting & Filmmaking Course

A vocational program of film studies designed to equip students with screenwriting techniques and Assistant Director Skill set. Enabling students to take the first step on the journey to become Screenwriters & Film Directors. The course is scheduled so as to accommodate class hours, labs and short film projects. Students are encouraged to apply classroom theories in their assignments and projects. The faculty is a mix of professional teachers and industry stalwarts.

Course Requirements

The Prospective student should preferably have already had their writing published be it at any level a school literary prize, student newspaper or commercial publication.

They should demonstrate a prior knowledge of international as well as local cinema Candidates should posses a high level of communication skills irrespective of language, an enthusiasm to convey ideas and an ability to absorb and to respond to information quickly.

Course Fee, Terms & Conditions

Upon selection, the concerned candidate is expected to pay a sum of Rs.2, 00,000 (Rupees Two Lakhs only) + service tax as applicable towards course fee and a caution deposit of Rs. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only -Refundable) within a week after the receipt of the admission card. Any delay in this matter would result in the seat being allotted to the next candidate on the waiting list.

Beyond this, whatever additional expenses may occur in order to finish project works and assignments such as continuity exercise, scene exercise and thesis film in terms of locations, actors, etc are to be borne by the candidate.

In case, the concerned candidate wishes to shoot the final project on film negative instead of video, all costs incurred towards the purchase of raw stock, processing, printing or conversion to digital format for non-linear editing by way of telecine etc should be borne by him or her. All outstation candidates would have to find their own accommodation as Mindscreen Film Institute is not a residential institution.

Upon the successful completion of class works, exercises, projects and mid term and final examinations with adequate attendance record, the candidate would be formally awarded a Certificate.
