The RV Teacher’s Training institute which was founded along with the RV Teacher’s College in 1954 in the Precincts of the present RSS Trust office is presently situated at a well ventilated new building at 4th Block, Jayanagar which also houses the RV Nursing Hostel.

Although, a part of the RV Teacher’s College, the TCH section was separated from RV Teacher’s College in 1978 and in 2003-2004, the title of the course was changed from TCH to D.Ed (Diploma in Education).

The RV Teacher’s Training institute is a premier institution for offering a D.Ed programme and the first to be given a permanent recognition by the Govt of Karnataka in 1975. In 1996, the NCTE (National Council for teacher Education) endorsed the institution for its work.

The D.Ed course offered in the institute is creative mix of theory with activities. An ample time is spent by trainees on co-curricular activities like health & physical education, value based education, music, art and a yearly workshop based on model making.

Infact, a peep into the room where models used as ‘teaching-aids’, is really awe-inspiring. Working models with attractive lights for match-the –following, the Gol Gumbaz, other historical monuments, and other such models have been stored in a room.
