Bhubaneswar Engineering College (BEC) was established in 2008 and is being managed by Nabakalebar Charitable Educational Trust with the mission to "create engineering minds capable of mastering the global challenges of tomorrow's technology".

The Institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) under MHRD,Govt of India and is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). The lush green campus comprises of 27.5 acres of land and located at the picturesque about 4 kms from International Airport Bhubaneswar. The Institute has been growing up by leaps and bounds under the able leadership of the founder Er.N. K. Mallick, Patron-in -Chief, Er.Prabhat Ranjan Mallick, Chairman KGI, Er. Alok Ranjan Mallick, Vice Chairman KGI & Chairman BEC.

About 1500 students are studying in various disciplines of B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, EE, EEE, ENTC, CSE,)M.Tech (CSE, MECH, ,EEE), MBA & Diploma in Engineering(Aeronautical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering) in BEC. The entire campus is equipped with 24x7 Wi-Fi connections, Lawn Tennis court, Basket Ball court, Swimming Pool, Cricket ground, Paragliding, Gymnasium with a plethora of eco-friendly zone where human being and Nature coexist in a rare ambience away from the dust and grime of city life.

Bhubaneswar Engineering College (BEC) a leading Engineering college of odisha located in Bhubaneswar is an academic institution. It's primarily an undergraduate college BEC established in the year 2008 under Nabakalebara Educational Trust is engaged in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering], BEC also provide Diploma Engineering in  Mechanical, civil, Aeronautical and Electrical Engineering with Management Courses like MBA under approval of AICTE and Affiliation of BPUT and SCTEVT, Odisha BEC was the first college to provide AERONAUTICAL Engineering course in eastern part of India . The college is led by Er. Prabhat Ranjan Mallick and Alok Ranjan Malllick  and Director Dr. B N Biswal Currently it is under the Koustuv group of institutions. Nested on the technologically advanced part of Temple City, khurda, Bhubaneswar, the campus hosts academic blocks, computer centers, lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, conference halls, hostel and students' centers. The campus also comprises a bank with a clinic to attend to the general health of the students and staff. Fully WI-FI campus provides instant connectivity. Several laboratories

are assigned to each Department at different colleges in KGI to meet the needs of its branch of learning. The Library at the Koustuv Group of Institutions, offering progressive as well as traditional learning resources. The Libraries boasts of over volumes along with a subscription to more than 35 national and 20 international technical and non-technical journals. Along with this, the fully computerized library offers open access internet facilities, on-line journals, e-books, educational CD-ROMs, audio-visual materials and other e-learning resources.

Facilities:

Library: A well-stocked library empowered with the latest Lib-Sys software is provided for support teaching, research, academic programmes and technical development programmes in BEC Central Library. The main focus is on leveraging intellectual capital. The BEC Central Library is well-furnished with a wide range of books, journals, newspapers, research, publications and periodicals.

Laboratories & Workshops: Well equipped laboratories and workshops are the training grounds for budding professionals. BEC has state-of-the- art labs and workshops that enable students to experiment and bring to practice what they have learnt theoretically. Laboratories and workshops are equipped with required instruments and are supervised by qualified technicians.

Lecture Halls: The lecture halls are thoughtfully designed for inculcation of high quality. Learning and Practicing are equipped for education through various media like OHPs, Multimedia presentations and display panels. A variety of learning tools ensure through experimental acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role plays, case studies, project works, field experiences, assignments, quizzing, seminars and industry visits are some of the methods used. Students are encouraged to develop analytical skills and contribute at various forums like in- house publications, workshops and seminars.

Hostel: The hostel provides accommodations to students in spacious, well furnished and elegant rooms with clean and hygienic wash rooms with all modern facilities. Wardens look after the well being and safety of all students and ensure them to be in discipline in the respective boys and girls hostels regularly. Students may approach the warden freely if they face any difficulty in the hostels. Wholesome and nutritious food is provided at the minimum possible cost in the mess frequently.

Transport: BEC provides transportation facilities to all the members of its hostel boarders as well as the day scholars for which it maintains a fleet of buses which ply regularly on the stipulated routes between the twin cities i.e. Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and the outskirts of the temple city including Jatni and Khordha. Besides the scheduled regular trips, this transport facility is also extended to our students on other occasions like campus placement drives, special coaching classes, study tours, industry visits etc.

Admission Procedure

B.TECH : Eligibility to take admission in B Tech, candidate should have passed 10+2 Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology with 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the aggregate. And the candidate must have a valid score card in JEE-Main.

B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Passed or appearing in 2014 diploma engineering with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category). And the candidate must have a valid score card in OJEE.

Lateral Entry for B. Sc./ +3 Sc. students : Passed or appearing in 2014, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of ST/SC) and must have passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject. And the candidate must have a valid score card in OJEE.

MBA:- Passed or appearing in 2014, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Additionally the candidate must have a valid score in a national level admission test such as CAT/MAT/XAT/C-MAT/AIMA/OJEE.

M.Tech (Regular):- Passed or appearing in 2014, Bachelor’s Degree of examination in the relevant field .The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST category). And the candidate must have a valid score card in PGAT/GATE.

Diploma:- To become eligible to take admission in Diploma, candidate should be passed 10th Examination with 35% marks in the aggregate. Additionally the candidate must have a valid score in Diploma Entrance Test (DET).

Chairman, BEC: I was recently asked what an aspiring student should look for while choosing a college for a career. My answer is "First: look at the Institute's Promoters, their Education, Vision, Plans, Second: Faculty, their Qualifications, Research, Grants, Achievements, Third: Placement Track Record especially the quality of Placements, Fourth: Students’ Academic Performance Track Record, Sports & Extra-Curricular Activities, Fifth: Infrastructure, Ambience & Discipline, and finally, Choose the Best College - Branch is immaterial. I want all top rankers of AIEEE and Orissa JEE to consider seriously BEC as their choice for Engineering or Management career.
