V.G. Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce is a private institute managed by Kelkar Education Trust, the reason why the college is also termed as KET's V.G. Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce. V.G. Vaze is short for Vinayak Ganesh Vaze and that expands the college’s name to Kelkar Education Trust’s Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college was established in the memory and dream of Shri Annasaheb Vaze, founder trustee of KET. Kelkar College is another of its names as the trust had another founder whose name was Bhausaheb Kelkar and the present name represents Kelkar-Vaze family. Established in 1984 it is permanently affiliated to University of Mumbai since 1990 and the curriculum is designed by University. The College complex is located on a 2.5 acre plot with a fully built-up space of about 1,90,000 sq. ft. The college offers fee subsidies to needy students funded by Government for general streams; BA, BSc, B.Com. It also offers self financing courses- under the guidelines of the university. The college also offers school education up to XII which is governed by Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. The College offers all modern facilities such as Library, Reading rooms, audio-visual library, Air conditioned auditorium equipped with 16 mm projector, overhead/slide/LCD projectors, InfoTech centre, gymkhana, gymnasium, canteen, conference room, student’s common room, cultural activity room, multimedia room and many more.
It is located in Mithagar area of Mulund East, a north eastern suburb of Mumbai.
Library - The college library was setup in 1984 with 2650 books.

The college has subscribed to e-resources through the programme entitled N-LIST i.e. (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) of INFLIBNET funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Library is a member of The British Council Library, Asiatic Society Library and American Centre Library. The multimedia section has 23 computers with internet facility. The reading room of the library has a seating capacity of almost 250 students. The College has a Book Bank Scheme run by the Students Mutual Aid Fund for the economically backward & needy students.
Computing Facility - General computing facilities are made available to the students wherein they can access the Internet for general searches to facilitate their project work and daily assignments, tutorials and presentations.
Laboratories - All the laboratories are fully equipped with the necessary fittings, materials & instruments.
Scientific Research Centre – It conducts funded, un-funded major/minor research projects and has linkage with industry– consultancy, research and development activities. It also offers testing and quality evaluation training for entrepreneurs in biotechnology
Counselling Cell - The College has set up a counselling cell to help some of the students who have personal problems, causing stress and strain.
