Introduction

The Indian Textile Industry has a great legacy; perhaps, it is unmatched in the history of our country’s industrial development. It is one of the most important sectors of our economy, generating employment opportunities for the trained textile designers both in domestic and foreign markets. Textile designing is a creative field is connected with the various sectors of the industry like apparel/garment, fashion and interior designing. The course helps the students to put forth their innovative ideas, techniques and designs in the form of printed, Woven/non-Woven textile, knitted textiles and the embellishment of fabrics which are later produced commercially in the market.
