About IGNOU Institute for Vocational Education and Training - IGNOU IIVET

The IGNOU Institute for Vocational Education and Training (IIVET), Shillong was established in January 2009, to cater to Vocational Education and Training and Skills Development for the North East Region specifically and the country in general. It identified target groups such as: Educated Unemployed, Uneducated Unemployed, General Population, The Differently Abled, Domestic Workers, and Street Children etc.

The IIVET Shillong has launched the online distance courses training programs ranging from one month to six months and even an year, the courses are:

• Appreciation Program on Citizen Journalism
• Volunteering For A Better World – (A Vocational Training Programme, With Academic Support from the United Nations Volunteers, UNV)
• Certificate in Welding Technology
