Sacred Heart Girls First Grade College has made seven years of voyage in providing quality education. A dream is a history and many historic events are nothing but dreams realized. Sacred Heart Degree College must have been the greatest dream of our Foundress Mother Thatipathri Gnanamma, a young widow from Phirangipuram, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, when she started the first school for girls on 3rd May 1863 at Kilachery, a village 40kms away from Chennai. Today the congregation, Society of Sisters of St. Anne under the leadership of Rev. Mother Leema Rosario runs more than 85 institutions in 5 States of India. Sacred Heart Degree College is one of the strongest branches of the society's Institution started on 15th June 2005 and is administered by St. Annes Sisters, Chennai.
