About SKS Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital

It is situated right along NH-2 with excellent rail and road connectivity and it is at a comfortable distance from Mathura. A 20 Minutes bus journey is what it takes to come from Mathura to SKS Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital.

Our College is approved by department of Ayush Government of India, New Delhi recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi affiliated to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. Approved by government of Uttar Pradesh. The college is associated with hospital facility where each and every student obtains quality clinical experience along with classroom teaching offered by well experienced, highly qualified and dedicated teaching faculty.

The college is currently well equipped with 3 departments, extensive library and requisite Laboratories. All the departments have highly qualified and experienced staff to enrich the knowledge of students in undergraduate course of B.A.M.S. SKS Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital is spread across 5 acres of land. The campus consists of Main administrative block, hospital (both OPD & IPD), College Block, Herbal Garden, canteen & Separate Hostel for Boys & Girls. SKS Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital has 100 bedded hospital and a Pharmacy.

Library

SKS Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital provides a well-equipped library with a collection of both classic and modern works of Indian medicine. The periodical collection consists of current subscriptions on Ayurveda, nutrition, conventional medicine, journals on research and current advances in Ayurveda.

During the academic year, Library is open from Monday to Saturday. Library material is readily accessible to all students, faculty and other doctors of the Institution.

In addition to the main collection, library maintains subscription to various journals, a reference collection, audio visual collection that includes audio tapes on Yoga, Ayurveda and CDROMS on medicine, Ayurveda, yoga and herbal drugs and video cassettes on presentation of rare cases by various prominent practitioners presented at many seminars. The library is computerized and connected to Internet to browse latest information on medicine.

Departments and Laboratories

The college is headed by the Principal Dr. J.P. AWASTHI qualified in MD (Dravyaguna) and has devoted and experienced teaching faculty. The College is well established with all Departments/Museum and Lab facilities.

Department of Samhita, Siddhanta and Sanskrit

The Scientific and Philosophical relationship between the microcosm and the macrocosm are taught through Sanskrit, Padartha Vigyan, Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Samgraha. Sanskrit is taught to the students as a spoken language.

Department of Kriya Sharir

Department of Kriya Sharir is concerned with the understanding of normal functions of the human body through Ayurvedic perspective. This department has a full-fledged Laboratory and practical hall for bio-chemical experiments and investigations. Well equipped lab with all sophisticated equipments. The department has a museum with good number of Models Specimens and Charts. Department of Rachana Sharir

Department of Rachana Sharir deals with the knowledge of anatomy of Human Body which is essential for a surgical treatments. The Rachana sharir department has a museum with good number of Charts, Specimens and Models. The dissection hall is spacious and separate room is available to store the cadavers and dissected parts. Anatomy classes and dissections are handled by experienced professors.
