Baptist Seminary of South India (BSSI) has its roots in an extension program that began in 1982. This program offered the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS), in collaboration with Northwest Baptist Seminary, U.S.A. This program covered three years of summer training and was beneficial to over 80 students that completed it. As the need for quality advanced biblical training grew, the Lord led committed men to establish a full time residential program that would be focused on training and equipping God’s servants for the Church. Thus, BSSI was born. Over the years, BSSI has matured and has been able to cater to the academic needs of its students at different levels. Starting with one program in 1998, BSSI now offers three distinct programs, including an advanced program for men who are called into pastoral ministry. So far, we have been able to graduate about 200 men and women, who are faithfully serving the Lord in different parts of the world, with over 70% of men serving in full-time pastoral ministry. Today, with a strong and dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, BSSI stands committed to its mission, for the glory of God.
