Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management - ITHM
Perceiving the significance of professionally trained people in the judicious exploitation of country’s extra-ordinary tourism magnetism and the underlying opportunities for the young generation in the entrepreneurial, services, academic and research sectors of the fast-growing travel and hospitality industry, Institute of Tourism, and Hotel Management (ITHM) was established by the Bundelkhand University on its main Campus in the year 1999. Ever since its inception, ITHM is consistently working on the twin missions of
“Creating a cadre of trained professionals per the dynamically changing human resource requirements of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and contribute towards promotion of RESPONSIBLE TOURISM in the country.”
The ITHM is credited to be the only academic centre in the country to offer full-fledged study cum training programs on both Tourism and Hotel Management. It has an ideally conceived beautiful four-storey building with provisions of requisite training areas including basic/intermediate/quantity kitchens, laundry, training restaurant, student dining hall, guest rooms, cloak room, central stores, front office, library, computer centre, travel desk, lecture theatres and multiple classrooms.
The young and dynamic faculty of the Institute is firmly determined to transform it into a centre of excellence and a perennial trendsetter in its chosen fields. Due care is particularly taken towards consistently up-dating the curriculum, so that the incumbents are groomed in totality, in terms of theory and practice, along-side refining their communication skills, analytical ability, leadership qualities and planning acumen etc. Provision of intensive on-the-job training, field interpretation, group discussion, seminars, surprise tests, dissertation and field trip/ training/ project reports are the integral part of the syllabi of each course offered by the Institute. Resource persons from the industry and academia are regularly invited for deliberations on applied themes of Tourism & Hotel Management. Likewise, organization of inter-active events including seminars, Symposia and workshops on Tourism and Hospitality Management is taken as essential components of the academic schedule. “Graduates of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management must have the knowledge, skill, motivation and experience to effectively take up managerial responsibilities in the dynamically growing tourism, hotel and hospitality sector”, is what the ITHM family strives for.

The Institute is based in an independent 4- storied building housing nine Classrooms, Conference Halls, Library, Computer Center, Twin Training Kitchens, Coffee Shop, Training Bar cum Restaurant, Laundry, Guest Room, Recreation Hall, Travel Counter, Training & Placement Cell in addition to Eight Faculty Rooms.
