Bunts Sangha's S.M. Shetty Educational Institutions

Bunts Sangha’s S.M. Shetty Group of Educational institutions was established in June 1998 in Powai on a plot of land donated by Shri. S.M.Shetty of SM Group of Industries. The school was inaugurated on June 8, 1998 by Shri S.M.Shetty, our major donor. Today the institution consists of ground plus eight upper floors with the total built up area of 1,35,000 sqft. Under the umbrella of Bunts Sangha's Group of Educational Institution we have:

• S.M. Shetty High School and Junior College.
• S.M. Shetty International School
• S.M. Shetty College of Science, Commerce and Management Studies.
• S.M. Angels Day Care and Play Area.

We started S.M.Shetty High School with 240 students in the year 1998 and in the short span of 12 years we have reached student strength of 2700 in June 2010. In the Academic Year 2011-12 we expect to have 3500. We started Jr College in the year 2003 with the enrollment of 155 students and today the student enrolment stands at 1250 and enrolment is likely to reach 1600 during 2011-2012.

S.M. Shetty International School was started in 2008 with IGCSE curriculum of University of Cambridge, with the enrolment of 110 students and today the enrolment has reached above 750. We have also started the International Primary curriculum in the academic year 2011-12.

In the year 2008 we also started S.M. Shetty College of Science, Commerce and Management Studies with the enrolment of 240 students and the same has reached to 1250 students during the year 2010-2011. The strength of the Degree College will be around 1600 in the year 2011-2012.

In June 2010 we setup SM Angels Play School & Day Care Centre for kids of age group from 1 to 8 years. This facility was setup to cater to needs of working parents. The facility has an excellent ambience with modern amenities designed by professionals. We already have 75 kids using the facility and strength is expected to reach 300 shortly.

The purpose of establishing Bunts Sangha’s S.M. Shetty Group of Educational Institutions was to fulfill our desire to give something in return to the city of Mumbai which has provided opportunities to our people to prosper in their chosen field and profession in Maharashtra. The Sangha also took a deliberate decision to go in for State Board (S.S.C) so that it benefits the people of Maharashtra.
