Punjab School Education Board hikes exam fee

With the introduction of semester system in the metric and Senior secondary exam the PSEB has hiked the examination fee ranging from30% to 50%. According to the official sources the increaed fee will be applicable from 2010-2011.

In case of Class X Rs 300 and Rs 40 per subject would be charged per semester against the current Rs 400 and Rs 40 per subject for the whole year.The fee for the compartment candidates  for the whole year had been increased from Rs 550 to Rs 1000.For state outsider the fee would be 1400 for the whole year and Rs 40 per subject/semester.Fee for additional subject is up from Rs 220 to 440 for the pubjab students and RS 660 for the outsiders.

In case of Class XII the fee had been raised to Rs 800 from existing  Rs 500 along with Rs 60 per subject.For the candidates appearing in Private compartment and imroving performance the fee would be 1200 up by 100% from existing 600.Candidates from outside pubjab has to pay  Rs 1700 up from  Rs 850.

For the candidates  of open school the fee for X and XII has bee fixed at Rs 1000 and Rs1200 respectively.
