The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has declared the schedule for entrance test, counselling and admissions. The AICTE has asked the state government and technical universities to follow the time-table and regularise the academic session 2013-14.
The regularisation of the academic session in colleges affiliated to AICTE will ensure that the admission process will go ahead according to the academic calender for 2013-14. Till now, the entrance test is conducted in the month of May and the results are declared in June. The admission process goes upto September. This disturbs the academic session.
AICTE administration informed that admissions to the engineering and management colleges will not be allowed after the prescribed last date. Colleges which delay the admission process at their respective ends will not be allowed to take the academic session further. It is worth mentioning here that while the entrance test will be conducted on May 13 and the results will be declared on June 5. The first stage of counselling will be held before June 30. The second and the third round of counselling will begin before July 10 and July 20 respectively. The last date of admission will be July 30 and the session will commence from August 1.
