Karnataka to get three more private universities soon

The state cabinet on Thursday approved the establishment of three more private universities in Karnataka.

Sam Pitroda's Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions is establishing a health university - The Institute for Trans Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology. The cabinet has approved the bill. Briefing reporters, law minister S Suresh Kumar said that it would be a research-based university.

The cabinet also gave approval to CMR Jnanadhara Trust to establish a private university at Jala Hobli in Bangalore. The AH Memorial Trust has proposed to establish Presidency private university in Hesarghatta hobli in Bangalore.

During the last legislature session, 13 private universities had been approved.
