University of Pune is introducing a two-year MTech (Aviation) course focused on training pilots, in collaboration with a top German civil aviation company, from academic year 2013-14.
"The first six months of the course will be at UoP's department of technology, while the remaining 18 months will be on-site training in Germany, following which the students will get a UoP degree," said vice-chancellor Wasudeo N Gade.
A formal memorandum of understanding related to the course will be signed in June between the UoP and the German firm Fashschule Feer Luftahrgeng Fuhres (FFLF. Only engineering graduates will be eligible for the new course, with a proposed initial intake of 24 seats.
