Jai Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Science (JPNAIIMS) is all set to double the intake of students into its MBBS course to 100 this year from 50 last year. The institute had admitted its first batch of MBBS students last year.
According to Dr Chandramani Singh of JPNAIIMS, the admission procedure has already started for all the AIIMS centres in India. The classes of the second batch would begin by August this year.
In another important development, around 85 faculty members have been recruited by the institute, of which 54 have already joined. "Around 6,500 people applied for the vacancies from across the world and some excellent professors from the United Kingdom are among those selected as professors," said Dr (Prof) G K Singh, Director, JPNAIIMS.
