IIMC to introduce new short term course for Urdu Journalist

A new short term certificate courses will shortly be introduced in the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) that impart essential skills among Urdu Journalist. As per the statement by the Information and Broadcasting ministry released on Thursday that the decision made to launch a new short term course under chairmanship of Uday Kumar Verma, the chairman of the IIMC board and the I&B secretary.

Manish Tewari, Information and Broadcasting minister at recently conducted a conference of Urdu editors appraised necessity of offering quality training to aspirants who seeks Urdu Journalism as a profession. During the conversation, Urdu Press representatives requested to start capacity building and skill in the medium through this short term course.

This non residential course is open to all freelance or full-time Urdu journalist. It will focus on copy writing and writing for TV, latest journalism practices, use of technology according to the statement of the ministry. Duration, fee structure, curriculum etc. are under process of finalizing and it is expected that students will get benefit of this course from the coming session.
