Tripura all set to get New Indian Institute of Information Technology

The ministry of human resource development has agreed to set up an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Tripura, official sources said today.

The Rs 128 crore project would be set up at the state industrial hub at Bodhjungnagar, about 20km from here and the state government had allotted a land of 50 acres for the project site, Higher Education secretary Kishore Ambuly told reporters.

"When MHRD would pay Rs 119 crore for the project, the rest would be bourn by ONGC and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO)," he said.
