More than 9,000 students were appeared in the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) held on 21 July 2013.

KMAT is an entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Private Postgraduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses. The association covers more than 169 institutions.

The secretary of the association, N. Prakash, said, this year KMAT received better response when compared to the last year test in which about 7,000 students only appeared. Out of a total 11,200 students who had registered for the KMAT 2013, 9184 were appeared in the test held on the last Sunday.

While 50 per cent of the MBA seats in the state colleges/institutions will be filled using the KMAT scores, the remaining 50 per cent will go to the government, which will use the scores of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to fill the seats.

As published on the KMAT website, the results of the test will be announced on 01 August 2013, and the score cards will be sent to the exam takers on 05 August 2013.
