Over 35 courses at Lucknow University will remain suspended this year due to shortage of applicants. LU has declared selected merit cut-off list for only 83 out of 127 PG courses, including diploma and certificate courses. The list of 34 courses has not been declared.

While in around 25 courses, the number of applications is too low to run the course, in another 10-12 courses, the applications are just nearing the required number of seats.  According to university admission officials, one or two course may survive after counseling. "There are chances that the recent university's criteria (20% or 40 seats whichever is minimum) will work for two or three courses to survive.
