Bangalore University to allow 2 degree courses simultaneously

Dual degrees courses will soon be a reality for students of Bangalore University. On Thursday, the academic council said students can pursue two degrees at a time with a condition that either of the two be a part-time or through correspondence.

The dual-degree programme can be from another university. But a student cannot pursue two full-time courses simultaneously. This may be available from the next academic year after the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines come to force. The decision comes a few months after the UGC gave permission for joint-degree programmes.
