From the next academic year, students from other varsities will be allowed to pursue M.Sc at Mumbai University after completing a bridge course.

The university's academic council on Thursday approved the syllabus for the bridge course. The course will be for 12 credits and will currently be offered for M.Sc in computer science, microbiology, biotechnology and chemistry. The dean of science, Madhuri Pejaver, said, "B.Sc in other universities has three subjects in the final year. We have only one subject and so it is covered in detail.

The bridge course offered will have to be done simultaneously with the M.Sc. It is for 12 credits and students have to ensure that they do it before they take the M.Sc exam, so it is advisable to do it in the first semester."
