Two more medical institutions from Bihar - Patna Dental College and Government Ayurvedic College, Patna - have been brought under the ambit of Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU).
Earlier, Government Ayurvedic College was being governed by BRA Bihar University while the Patna Dental College was under the academic jurisdiction of Patna University.
The other state government Medical colleges which were running under different universities were also were transferred to AKU in the past.
AKU vice-chancellor S N Guha informed that now the total number of technical institutions brought under the AKU has reached to 50, including the two lately added colleges
The AKU University will be conducting the examination for the fresh batches of the newly added medical colleges. The ongoing examinations of former batches from these colleges would be undertaken by the parent universities only, told Guha.
AKU governs all the technical institutions of Bihar and it is yet to own a campus of its own after the construction work begins on the plot of land which has already been allotted by the state government, in adjacent to Chanakya National Law University at Mithapur.
