JAC has initiated lots of measures for the board examinations starting February 21. Among the many steps that have been taken by the board in the past one year, revision of syllabus, change in the question pattern and mock tests are the key ones.

According to officials, The first important step, which was taken in this direction, was to start free coaching classes for students of Class X.

Mock test for students, who are to appear in the examination this year is another measure adopted to improve the performance of the students.  This will not only familiarize them with the new question pattern, but also help them work on their weak areas."

Teachers have hailed the move and think that the changes are going to improve the overall result of students. Asha Bage, principal of Bethesda Girls' High School, said, "When we were in school, the pattern was vastly different with more descriptive type questions, answers to which would be two to three pages long. However, with the introduction of objective type question and OMR sheets, students can score better."

She added that earlier practical exams were held only for science, but now a 20 marks practical paper will be held for mathematics as well, thereby helping students score better."
