The Centre has approved setting up of 3 Medical Colleges having 100 seats each in the state of Odisha under 12th five year plan.
The centre will help by providing 75% funds to meet establishment expenses, while state government will incur other costs.
New colleges would be established at Balasore, Koraput and Balangir with each demanding 189 crore as an initial investment.
These 3 upcoming medical colleges is the part of a Central Scheme that proposes the establishment of 58 new colleges across the country by 2017.
The construction of the Medical Colleges will commence after the MoUs with the Centre will be signed, told health Secretary.
