AIIMS Raipur Campus inaugurated

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad has inaugurated the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur Campus on 27 February 2014, which is located in state Chhattisgarh. The AIIMS Raipur campus at present is launched with having 160 beds, and will have more beds added in near future to reach figure of up to 1,000.

The Raipur Campus will offer a total of 4,089 posts for doctors, employees and officials, Ghulam Nabi Azad Said. The minister stated that proposal of opening a new medical college in Surguja district will also materialize in some time.

Azad cited the figures that because of focus on Medical and Health Facilities in the country nearly 97 big scale medical colleges have been launched in the past 4 years all across the country along with increase in medical seats as well from 150 to being 250 now.
