Odisha to get another Medical College cum Hospital

The state government has recently signed a MoU with Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) to establish a Medical College of 100-bed and a 500-bed hospital at Talcher division located in a district of Odisha

For this proposal, the MCL shall invest Rs 400 crore. Land spread over 20 acres is to be allotted by the state government to establish medical college and hospital at.

The set up Hospital cum Medical College is estimated to be completed by 2016.

The MBBS admission in Medical College section is likely to commence from the 2016-17 admission season and will be held following the provisions of Professional and Education Act-2007.

With this 2014 has brought around 8 functional medical colleges and 7 other education institution that are currently proceeding in various stages of establishment in the Odisha.

Likewise, another medical college named as ESIC Medical College has also been initiated to be started at Khandagiri district in Odisha, shortly
