Aligarh: Dr. S. Moied Ahmed of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been awarded a Fellowship by the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).
Dr. Ahmed is the Associate Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology at the J.N. Medical College at AMU.
While conferring the award to the professor on the recommendation of senior professors at J.N. Medical College, the Board of Regents acknowledged his clinical experience, research and contribution in the field of critical care and respiratory care medicine.
The Board has authorized him to use the designation "FCCP", which is widely recognized as a mark of professional distinction. The college greatly values his membership and expects him to become active in ACCP committees and networks.
As a Fellow, Dr. Ahmed will have the right to vote in college elections and to hold office.
The Board of Regents has invited him to receive the award in the forthcoming convocation ceremony to be held during the Seventy-Seventh Annual International Scientific Assembly that will be held from October 22-27, 2011 at Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dr. Moied had also been recently awarded the International Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine by the Faculty of Medicine of Leeds Teaching Hospital at the University of Leeds, UK.
