Dhabaleswar Institute of Polytechnic is a private and self financed institute. It is managed by Dhabaleswar Industrial training Centre (DITC) managing trustees. It was founded by Er. Subrat Das, Chairman of DITC managing trustees. It comes under the aegis of Dhabaleswar Group of Institutions. Also referred as DIP, the polytechnic is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Dhabaleswar Institute of Polytechnic has about 12.011 acres of land available for building and other purposes. The institute comprises of 2.5 lac square feet building with integrated workshops and various facilities for the students. The polytechnic offers diploma courses in engineering branches of mechanical, electrical, computer science, electronics and telecommunication and civil engineering. Apart from these the polytechnic imparts training in Computer Aided Designing and Manufacturing (CAD and CAM) and offers courses like Cisco Certified Networking Administration (CCNA). The institute is certified by CISCO Systems Inc. U.S.A. to conduct the CISCO Netacad Academy at its campus. It is tied to regional academy Webel Informatics, Kolkatta as joint ventures.

Facilities
Hostel – The institute provides separate hostels for boys and girls inside the college premises.
Library – The polytechnic library has a collection of about 20000 books. It has subscription of various technical magazines, news papers and management journals. It is facilitated with electronic searching and air conditioned environment in an area of 20000 sq feet.
Computer Laboratory and Internet Facility – The computer laboratory comprises of various systems interconnected to each other. The laboratory also provides internet facility to all the students. It also helps in conducting the online exams of CISCO from the centre itself. The connection with a speed of 100 mbps is offered to the entire hostel 24 hours a day. The WI-FI Network also helps for online tests.
Transportation Facility – Transportation is available from nearby cities i.e. Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal with subsidised rates taken annually.
Canteen – The canteen is fully air conditioned and offers special menu each week.
IIPC Cell – The Industry Institute Partnership Cell of the polytechnic has got good tie ups with the subsidiary industries like Aaarti Steel Plant, Maheswari Steels and Power, Rawmett Industries and various steels and power manufacturing units for the production unit of the college. Institute industry interaction programme is also facilitated through these associations.
EDP – Electronic Data Processing Cell of DIP sends alerts and emails relative to the candidates, like the marks details of the students of the repeated comprehensive evaluation scheme.
Seminars – DIP conducts various seminars which are headed and facilitated by HR managers and production heads of different industries to acquaint them with the industrial platform. Regular audio visual seminar programs are also conducted acquaint the students with modern technology and new concepts in the technical arena. Auditorium and Seminar halls facilitate these activities.
Study Loans – The polytechnic provides study loan facilities to the needy students through Oriental Bank of Commerce. It has tied up with OBC, Bhubaneswar branch to provide loan facilities for 3 years. This study loan covers the entire expenditure of the student till the completion of the course. Candidates who have applied for the loan will be provided 100% placement from the T & P Department after the completion of the course. Scholarships – The institute offers special scholarships for meritorious students.
MoUs – A Memorandum of understanding exists between the Cisco Systems, USA for training of networking to the candidates. MOU with RT outsourcing, Okhla, New Delhi for training of BTS to telecom students is also in effect.
Training and Placement Cell – The T & P Cell facilitates the campus recruitment programme for all disciplines. It facilitates visit of the students for Summer & Winter vacation training. The T& P division also provides counselling and guidance to the students regarding the visiting organization, selection procedure and preparation for recruitment tests. A team of placement co-coordinators assist the T & P office.

Free Education – The institute provides free teaching to orphan candidates.
