Sevdie Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT) is an institute of technical education. It was established in 2002 under the guidance of great educationist and visionary, Er. Shree Ram Singh Ji. He had extensive experience holding positions as Secretary to Joint Entrance Examination Council, UP and Secretary to Board of Technical Education, UP. Sevdie Institute of Management & Technology, Lucknow is managed by SEVDIE or Society of Entrepreneurship, Village Development and Improvement of Environment established in 1992. SEVDIE is also an abbreviation which also happens to be the mission of the institute. Thus, SE = Sincere Education, V = Values of life, DI = Discipline and E = Expression Power. SEVDIE members also happen to be brainchild’s of the institute as they were the ones who passed a resolution for establishment of an Institute for Technical Education in 2002. The institute was inaugurated on 16-09-2002 by Durg Singh Chauhan Vice Chancellor U.P.T.U. The institute is affiliated to Board of Technical Education (B.T.E), UP.
SEVDIE Institute of management & technology is spread across an area of 2.5 acre interspersed with over 70000 sq/ft built up area and lush green lawns. It is divided into four interconnected blocks – A, B, C & D, each having four floors which have spaced corridors and well laid out staircase. To foster the spirit of unity in diversity and rise above the feelings of class and trade, students across campus are randomly divided into four houses viz. Gandhi, Nehru, Vivekananda and Subhash House. Each house is lead by a Captain and a Vice Captain.
Admissions to various Diploma courses are done on the basis of Preferential Seat Allotment during the Counselling conducted by Joint Entrance Examination Council. Leftover seats if any are filled directly by the institute.

Note: People coming from Poorvanchal side by bus can get down directly at Matiyari Chauraha. Tempos are available frequently from Matiyari Chauraha to SIMT.
Lecture Halls – The institute has well ventilated and spacious lecture halls with ample amount of natural daylight and equipped with modern facilities.
Laboratories - SIMT has state of the art, well equipped laboratories.
Library - It is spread over an area of 3000 sq/ft with a collection of over 5000 books, magazines and newspapers. Library at SIMT is managed through library management software. Availing Library Membership for each student is mandatory. Students can search on-line for the availability of a particular book and track its location at the Library. Library also has a collection of videos on various topics
Book Bank- Under this, a student can avail a set of books for the entire academic session, subject to terms and conditions.
Cafeteria – SIMT has a Cafeteria serving snacks, lunch and beverages.
Summer Trainings - Students are expected to undergo Summer Trainings, as part of their curriculum. Summer trainings are arranged by the institute in companies and offices of repute.
Workshops - Workshops on various topics are conducted at regular intervals throughout the year.
Committees – The institutes has a number of committees to manage various events and activities.

CMC - Career Management Centre of SIMT provides array of services and support for its students. The CMC acts as a central hub for all student development and placement related activities and is a repository of all information and resources.
Activities undertaken by CMC are as follows:
SIMT Placement – Placements are initiated by sending brochures and presentations detailing the program structure and other program attributes to a large number of business organizations which enables a proper understanding of the institute profile. These organizations are subsequently contacted to find out their campus recruitment plans and requirements. Students meeting the conditions of the organisations are identified. Candidates are supposed to register for the process along with a copy of detailed resume, which is then forwarded to the companies for further processing. The final interviews are held at SIMT Campus or Company location, as the case may be. Once the student receives an offer, it is mandatory for him/her to join the company. Also she/he is not eligible to participate further in selection process through the institution.
Scholarships - Jila Samaj Kalyan Vibhag grants scholarships to students of General & SC/ST Category whereas OBC Candidates receive their scholarship from Jila Pichda Varg Vibhag.
Awards – Various awards are given to meritorious students.
These are:
Educational Tour - Final Year students are sent to the educational tour for three to four days with their teachers. On a study tour students get real life field exposure & get the opportunity to see the factories, dam & mega constructions related to their courses. They are able to better understand the conceptual facts or points.
Tech Mod - Tech Mod is organized for all 1st, 2nd & final year students to convert their theoretical & practical knowledge in the working models which gives the confidence to the students. Diploma students are supposed to supervise the projects, factories etc. So the Tech Mod is the platform to prove them practically skilled or to convert their knowledge & thinking into working models innovations like Robots working dams, power generation & new circuitries to simplify the life of society.
