Swami Vivakananda School of Diploma (SVSD) is a self financed technical education institute. It is a part of Sanaka Educational Trust’s Group of Institutions (SETGOI) and is managed by the trust. SVSD was established in year 2012 by Sri Tapan Kr. Pobi who also founded ‘Sanaka Educational Trust’. Swami Vivakananda School of Diploma is Affiliated is approved by AICTE & affiliated to WBSCTE (West Bengal State Council of Technical Education). Because of recent origin the polytechnic is under development and its campus is coming up at an area of 35 acres.
50% of the total approved intake are reserved for Direct Admission and the rest are admitted through Counselling.
Overall 35% Marks in 10th Standard Examination and a valid rank in JEXPO.
Age - More than 15 years and there's no upper age limit.
For Admission without JEXPO Rank:
For the year 2012: Overall 40% marks in 10th standard and average of 45% marks in Science & Mathematics taken together.

Smart Classrooms – A special learning environment has been provided. A touch screen white board is integrated with the LCD projector and a computer. All these are integrated using a handy touch panel which enables the user to navigate between various options of display. The board acts like an electronic board where everything written on it can be saved as a ï¬le for future reference. Not only that the data can directly transferred to a student's laptop via WIFI. This revolutionary paper less education has been is first of its own kind in the region. Each class has a seating capacity of 60 and is sound proofed.
Hostels – The hostel rooms are spacious to ensure hassle-free accommodation. The hostels have indoor sports facilities including table tennis, carom, volley balls, badminton, multi-gym, common rooms with television. The hostel is also equipped with broadband Internet facilities. STD/ISD and FAX services operating round the clock are also available.
Laboratories - A number of laboratories impart practical knowledge with all the necessary equipments.
Workshop – Workshops equipped with equipments and tools also enhance the practical skills of the students.
Seminar & Conference Hall - The seminar room equipped with facilities of audiovisual connections. It has a seating arrangement of five hundred people. In addition to the Seminar Room, a Conference Hall also facilitates meetings and discussions.
Library - SETGOI Central library has a number of technical books, periodicals, video films, general magazines and other publications.
Projects - Projects help students to evaluate their potential. Project work may involve working alone or in a group, produce a detailed report of investigation, analysis of a topic, situation or a problem. These activities provide students the experience to become top professionals.
Scholarship - The SETGOI Management provides financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of society by waiving their tuition fees and facilitating various Government Scholarship Schemes.
Computer & IT Centre – It offers extensive IT facilities with computers, servers and leased line internet connectivity. The centre also provides a plethora of specialized laboratories to provide a unique computing environment to all its users. The centre is fully air-conditioned and the computers are on switched local area network with Gigabit backbone. The computer centre has power backup facilities by 2x20 kVA online Emerson UPS systems.
Health Centre – It will be facilitated with attached Inpatient Ward & will be available at the Main Campus. Consultation will be free for all the students & employees. The Para-Medical Personnel will include one Pharmacist and male nursing Assistant. Emergency cases will be treated as out-patients. In the main Campus, a part-time Medical Officer will be deputed from the Government Hospital & will attend in-patients for two hours in the morning.
Placement Cell - The Cell organizes certain orientation programmes, grooming sessions, mock interviews for students of each stream. Besides, the Cell organizes various summer internship programmes for students to provide them with hands-on experience and introducing them to match the professional environment.
Co-Curricular Activities – The polytechnic has music, drama, hobby, Knowledge, wall magazines, printed magazine and literary committees that give the students opportunities to display their creative and leadership potential. SETGOI students also arrange Annual cultural fest every year
Sports - There is a modern multi-gymnasium set up within the campus and the Institute offers ample opportunities for both indoor & outdoor games such as football, cricket, table tennis, volleyball & badminton. Intra -College tournaments & various sporting events are a regular feature. The Institute also holds the Annual Sports Meet in January & February, comprising track & field events.
SETGOI Alumni Association – It has been setup to engage in charitable and educational activities, by raising funds for setting up endowments, bestowing scholarships, rewarding teaching & research personnel, and generally promoting the development of resources at SETGOI.
